Assigning a Macro to a Keystroke in Flex Terminal Emulator

Flex Terminal Emulator allows you to assign macros to specific keys, enabling you to automate repetitive tasks and streamline your workflow.



How to Assign a Macro to a Key

Follow these steps to assign a macro to a keystroke:
  1. Open the Flex Terminal Emulator session (.aha) you want to modify.
  2. Navigate to the Schemes ribbon tab.
  3. Click the Keyboard Scheme icon in the Keyboard group to edit the current keyboard layout.
  4. In the keyboard layout view, select the key you want to modify.
  5. Choose the appropriate modifier key option (if needed, such as Ctrl, Alt, or Shift).
  6. Click the Action Properties button, or double-click the key on the layout.
  7. From the list of available actions, select Macro.
  8. Choose a macro from the list, or browse to locate a macro stored in another location.
  9. Click OK, then Save to apply your changes.

Notes
Once configured, pressing the selected key (and modifier, if applicable) will execute the assigned macro. This can significantly improve efficiency for frequently performed actions.
